Recommended Reading

Just put up a "Recommended Reading" page with links to a few books by Carnes and a couple others. Does anyone have other suggestions to put there?

Thank you :)

A Few Suggestions

How about the "Fireproof" movie which just came out on DVD 2 days ago? Also the book "The Love Dare" by Stephen & Alex Kendrick, which is also mentioned in the movie. Has some information about overcoming addictions - porn & otherwise. Good information about strengthening your marriage. :)

Though covering more ground than porn addiction the following books may still be worth looking at.

Eros Redeemed - John White
Changing on the Inside - John White
How to say no to a stubborn habit - Erwin W. Lutzer

Also worth considering is:

Romano Guardini - Learning the Virtues

I still think the single most important book for my recovery has been the Big Book "Alcoholics Anonymous". I'm not an alcoholic, but these are our people, and this is where the 12-step program came from.

Hey, RobbieC. I tried that link and I got this message:

"Shopping Cart Error

We're sorry, but the selected title is not available."

Just to let you know. Have a nice day! :)

I really like the following books and found them helpful for overcoming porn addiction:

Your Brain on Porn - eBook by Gary Wilson. Talks about brain science of porn addiction and has many quotes and stories from recovered porn addicts.

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. Great book on replacing bad habits like porn with good habits like exercise. The book doesn't cover addiction specifically but the techniques work and are very useful.

Pornland by Gail Dines. Great book on porn's influence on society and some of the negative aspects of porn.

Rewire: Change Your Brain to Break Bad Habits, Overcome Addictions, Conquer Self-Destructive Behavior by Richard O'Connor. Good one on how addictions affect the brain and how to change them.
