UkPaul's daily achievements thread
Hello all, only my second post, the first being my recovery plan. Part of this is to record my daily achievements- and I can't think of a better place
to do so than here. I have searched for a similar thread but not found one, but if there is then please move or merge this one.
Anyone else who wants to add to this, feel free to do so.
So here are yesterday's,
2nd July 2010
- told my GF I had guessed the code-lock on her Iphone (the only Internet access in the house at present)
- didn't glance or look at the magazine rack in the store
- didn't have any extended looks at women whilst out
- signed up on PAI
- called Sex Addicts Anonymous and left a message
- took any DVDs that may contain triggers to the charity shop
- shared with my GF some of my experinces with PA as I remembered them
- held my GF properly for the first time ie, without any secrets
- fitted a washing machine
- noticed my GF has one pupil bigger than the other for the first time ie I wasn't afraid to look into her eyes
- wrote a recovery plan
Cheers,
UkPaul

Been a busy few days- still had time to write, but not to post...
5th July 2010
- spoke to my area contact for SAA to arrange going to the Tuesday night meeting
- spent a day on my own without acting out
- wrote more for journal (already posted)
- spent time on my own outside and managed to mainly not look at women
6th July 2010
- attended 1st SAA meeting
think that's enough for one day :-) Will try and journal my experiences with SAA when I get the time
7th July 2010
- spoke to a member of SAA to share my number with another member i had met
- had a (reasonably, relatively!) productive day at work
- I managed to stop myself from cursing inwardly at people, traffic lights, cars, and anything else that didn't do exactly what I wanted
- arranged to go on a bike ride with a friend on Sunday
- managed to look at less women than ever I can remember on my journey home
- started reading the first three steps
- cooked my SO a meal that she liked
cheers

Excellent! Walking through that door into one's first SAA meeting is a huge accomplishment. You're doing great stuff.

Ok, been a week since I posted on here. It's been a difficult week and I've felt that achievements have been thin on the ground- I hope that's not the
case and it's just my head that sees it that way! Most importantly I've been to my SA meetings and kept clean. I've also been away from the board- I
have to try and get back to posting regularly.
I'll just post a general achievements for the past week instead of day by day- a 'highlights', if you will
July 11th - July 18th 2010
- attended two SA meetings
- contacted a counsellor to arrange some therapy sessions
- passed a personal best for no MB; as far back as I can remember, I've never went longer than two weeks, until now
- phoned SA members when having tough times
- continued cycling to work
as I said, pretty thin on the ground Keep going I guess...
Cheers

Sounds like a great week to me. Those are all important steps. The goal isn't to to be fixed in 7 days, but to keep doing the next right thing.

Good stuff UKPaul!
I went for many years without getting help. Many times I came close to quitting by myself, but until recently have continued with the occasional
small slip. Discovering this online resource recently has really given me a huge boost in my recovery. A lot is coming to the surface, as it is
great to be able to share ones thoughts with a group of people who have, or have worked through similar problems.
You sound very positive and that's inspiring to me as I am working on my life in a similar way.

It's been a really tough day- a hard day at the office, if you will. Been feeling very low, was just about to call it a night when my SO showed me
your replies. It's no lie to say that they helped me out of a stupor- thanks, alot
18th July 2010
- had a great afternoon helping my SO volunteering at a charity event
- went out for an hour on the bike, even though it was the last thing I wanted to do
- took a call from another SA member
- took steps to try and join the PAI skype meeting
- spent substantial time on my own, with alot of H.A.L.T., but didn't act out
- ordered the White book
- started posting here again
- 3 weeks without any alcohol
Thanks again, you guys have inspired me too
Cheers,
UkPaul

Another hard and busy week, hence not been able to post as much as I'd like. Again, revolving around work.
19th - 24th July 2010
- handed my notice in at work. Not really an achievement in the classical sense, but something I needed to do.
- had two estate agents value my flat. Better price than anticipated.
- made a list of work that needs to be done on my flat before selling
- spoke to a member of the SA every day
- got a sponsor
- started work on step 0
- a month with no alcohol!!!
- no P or MB. I always forget to put this as an achievement. Probably the most important achievement I'm making every day...
Cheers,
UkPaul
