Time to stop
Hi All,
I have been reading over this forum for the last hour and I thought it was time I had to contribute. I have been using porn steadily for the majority
of my life (starting in my teenage years). Lately my addicition has become worse and I have been craving the excitement from webcams and chatrooms as
it gives a more intimate connection. This has become a daily activity and I want to stop. I only do this when I'm alone or bored (or both). When I am
with other people I never think about it and it's gotten to the point where I just enjoy the chase.
Can anyone give me any advice on whats the best way to cut this out of my life? I want to start the 30 day challenge now, but some advice and
direction would be much appreciated!
Thanks guys.

Thanks for your encouragement Tayder, this is my first time actually acknowledging my problem and it feels a relief to do so. I know there's a long
road ahead, but it's great having support!!
Ill check out the getting started guide now

Welcome!
Advice? Well, it's a real addiction, just as hard to get sober from as addictions to drugs or alcohol. So take it seriously, and do all the things
you'd suggest to a friend who was working to recover from a cocaine addiction. Go to meetings (face-to-face and online), get a sponsor, work the
steps, call other addicts, work with a counselor, learn to be open and honest with the central people in your life, read and journal and pray and
meditate. Those are the sorts of things I've done.
It's hard work - the hardest thing most of us will ever do. Every tool we're unwilling to pick up makes it a whole lot harder and makes the chance of
our success less. But it's also the most important and blessed thing most of us will ever do.
People recover from all manner of addictions every day. Once we're willing to do absolutely anything we need to do to get better, there is enormous
hope.
Again, welcome.
